Beginner’s guide
Pawn: forward one square (two on its first move), captures diagonally. Rook: straight lines. Bishop: diagonals. Knight: an L-shaped jump. Queen: straight lines or diagonals. King: one square.
In check? Your next move must protect your king: move it to safety, capture the attacker, or block the attack. A knight’s attack cannot be blocked. Highlighted dots show legal destinations. One free undo takes back your last move and the AI’s reply. It refreshes when you start a new game.
You play white and move first. Tap a piece to see its legal moves. Protect your king and checkmate the ice king. Castling, en passant, promotion, repetition and fifty-move draws are supported.
